The Aero 55 is a new wheelset for 2019; it takes where our Fast and Light series was and improves it. Our Fast and Light series was a huge customer favorite in 2018, and one of the reasons for that was its weight. On the Aero 55, we have managed to lose a further 100g per wheelset.

How did we do that? The Fast and Light series was constructed solely out of Toray T700 carbon fiber. To make a lighter wheelset and keep all the great characteristics of the Fast and Light rim, we needed to use a new layup. We had to use a mix of Toray T700 and T800 carbon fiber.

The mix of the fibers dropped the weight down, but it still allowed us to build a stiff, and strong tubeless ready rim. We stand behind this rim, and we offer it with a 2-year guarantee, the wheel is also UCI certified, and it has an improved brake track heat tolerance. With it’s wider shape you can fit wider tubeless tires and fully benefit from the aero profile of our rim, and lose a few PSI and have a comfier bike to ride.

All of this and we have kept the price affordable. One way in which we did this was that we had used the sealed bearing ICAN R01 hubset. The R01 hubset is a lighter hub than its predecessor, and it has lost a few spokes in the front. It is an easy hub to service and look after, and will provide you with years of service.

Holding the whole package together, we have Sapim CX-Ray spokes. CX-Ray spokes are famous around the world for being one of the lightest, and strongest aero spokes available.

Features

Wide Rim Tech

25mm rim wide creates a better, more stable support, while the shape of the tire and rim together creates regular, stable air flow, in short, more aerodynamics, less attrition. provides an ideal basis for 25/28mm tires, the sizes currently popular.

2-Way Clincher Tubeless. Tubes or No-Tubes

Use either traditional tires with tubes, or tubeless tires without tubes. Tubeless tires can provide lower rolling resistance and better protection from punctures.

Sapim CX-RAY As light as a titanium spoke

The CX-Ray still receives the best results in fatigue testing of any spoke. The CX-Ray aero spoke combines excellent aerodynamics with low weight and great strength. Not only are they more aerodynamic, they also make wheels lighter and stronger. Its unique strength and flexibility make the CX-Ray suitable for most bicycle disciplines. CX-Ray spokes are used by top bike racers and triathletes around the world.

UCI Approved

This wheelset has been certified and approved by the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale), for use in UCI sanctioned road races.
